Background

Temperance's family was small, not wealthy, but certainly on the upper side of the economic spectrum. They lived in Paradise Palms, Las Vegas, Nevada. Several years after she was born, her parents divorced, and her father went to work on a farm in Texas, while her mother was a successful psychiatrist.

Growing up, Temperance suffered from more than just albinism. She was not a happy child, and she struggled with depression since she was very young. Seeing that her sister was a happy little cherub, she grew very jealous, and began devoting her time to ruining her parent's impression of their dark-haired daughter.

She was outgoing and articulate, while Temperance was shy and, quite frankly, a sociopath; a nasty person to her subordinates, and a sycophant to her superiors. She may have been gifted with superb artistic ability—which she frequently practiced-but her real talent lay in how she could bend the willpower of others. Both of her parents may have been Christians, but little of that religion's morals rubbed off on Temperance.

She spent most of her preteen years pining for her parent's attention, while playing horrible (and dangerous) pranks on her sister. All the while, she deviously manipulated her sister into keeping her antics a secret by either using a threat, or a clever explanation as to why such a cruel thing was justifiably done without a need for punishment.

Perhaps if her sister had not been so successful, and so goddamned nice, then Temperance would not have plotted to kill her. A disturbed and jealous child, she convinced her sister that it might be fun to fool around with the rifles that daddy kept in the barn on his ranch. "Dad's always talking about 'a better place' that we go to when we die," Temperance had told Reese. "Let's go see it; we'll both go at the same time."

Only one gunshot was fired off that night. Rather than Temperance shooting her sister, like she had planned, her sister pulled the trigger just a second too early-on accident.

7 years. When she woke up, that's what they told her. That's how long she'd been unconscious for. In a coma, for 7 years; imagine all the time she lost, and she would have just turned 17. All the while, dreaming in her deep slumber about the happiness she never allowed herself to experience, and gradually forgetting her past. It was no hospital she woke up in, but more like a laboratory, and they refused to explain how she'd survived. Her family, they said, didn't even know she was alive. Either that or they just didn't care.

Chagrined that she could not return to her home-or at least the vague memory of the home she could remember, Temperance spent the next few weeks recovering in the hospital there in the lab, alone. The most vivid memory was her plan to kill Reese; how could she go back after concocting a plot like that? Ashamed, she fell into another rut of depression.

Convinced that death would be retribution, and sicker than she had ever been before, Temperance fastened a belt of explosives together, and sat beside it. "It's what I deserve," she reasoned with herself, before setting off the detonation switch…

"WHY HULLO THAR!" came the excited, yet somehow haggard voice of the old man staring down at Temperance. "Decided to blow yourself to smitheroons didja? I saved ya the first time; ya couldn't've tried to not kill yourself for at least a month?"

Ol' man Mitchel Mundo was a doctor. Although his name suggested that his work was more organically oriented, his specialty was the engineering of cybernetic, prosthetic body parts… Temperance found that she was not quite herself when she peered down at herself. Metal and artificial skin. She still looked 18, though somehow her body had stopped growing in the 7 MORE years that had passed, making her 24. Her personality was completely different. She went from manipulative and cunning, to passive, curious, and naive, much like a child.

She couldn't remember a thing. Only one thought remained inside her mind; 'you deserved it'. Plagued by this guilt for something she couldn't even remember, she fled from the doctor to live, like a rat, in the alley ways of Las Vegas. That's where she's been for the past year, learning how to survive on her own.

Description

Temperance3.jpg

This girl is as white as a ghost. She stands at no more than 5 feet and one inch, and she looks to weigh around 110lbs. She's young; no older than 17 or 18. Her hair is a fair blonde, almost as ashen as her alabaster white skin. Her eyes are the shocking, unnatural colour of red. The girl's colourization makes her look eerie and surreal, though her small stature makes her look less frightening. Any muscles she has are toned, and compact.

Her clothes aren't anything special. Second-hand, most likely, though they are almost always clean. At this time, she wears a comfortable red tank top over a white one. The shirts are somewhat tight, and they hug her sides, but they don't appear to be restricting in any way. More often than not, she wears a black leather jacket over top of her shirts, and it looks as though it's the most expensive thing she has on.

On her lower half she wears an old pair of boot cut jeans that look a size too big for her. They taper at her thighs, but gradually become looser towards her knees and shins. The style of the pants implies that the jeans were actually meant for a male to don them. The pair of white sneakers on her feet looks worn as well, and the laces are left hazardously undone.

Cybernetic Mods

About 40% of Temperance’s body has been modified, or completely replaced by a special combination of cyberware, hydraulics, and pneumatics. The man who did this was a genius, and somehow this experiment managed to work, though her life span has been cut in half, and repairs are extremely difficult to make.

Modification
One chip implanted into her mind; controls her mods.
Voice box.
Muscle tissue upgrade; damaged tissue was replaced with new, synthetic material and connected to an artificial nervous system.
Optical sensors that restored her eye-sight to that of a normal human’s, however it causes them to glow eerily. Thermal, and night vision.
Left arm replacement from the bicep downwards, left foot replacement; all covered in artificial skin.
Left side heavily modified; ribcage rebuilt, thin metal casing put over to protect remaining organic parts.

Stats

Skill Level Notes
Acrobatics 4 More of a free-runner than anything else. She's nimble, and scaling up and down buildings in Las Vegas is a skill she's learned in the many weeks she's spent navigating them.
Art 6 Her artwork is a real sight to see. She's just rediscovering this talent from the past she can't even remember, though she does lack the money to buy supplies.
Crime 3 How the hell else is she supposed to survive on the streets?
Driving 2 She can, but I wouldn't trust her with your father's new 1959 Mercedes.
Getting Medieval 2 Smack you with a toaster…
Influence 2 At least she's not a COMPLETE social outcast. SHE'S KIND OF A BIG DEAL.
Notice 3 This more relates to body language and moods - she's a very empathetic person.
Sports 3 Played soccer in high school, but she can't remember! Go figure.

Relationships

Significant People

Name Relation What?
Sam Friend? Temperance met Sam at the park, when robo girl was only dressed in a skirt and… strips of duct tape. Since then they've been hanging around each other often, and Temperance even lives with her now. She's more fond of Sam than any other person she knows.
Damian She's got his shirt. First time they met, Dim was covered in blood and it scared the shit out of Temperance. Even though they see each other frequently, she's still not sure about him. Mostly because he kicked her out of his house, which hurt her feelings. ;(
Daphne Aquaintance She hasn't been very impressed with Daphne calling her 'whitey' all the time, and she's generally very wary of someone who's been described as being capable of as much violence like Damian told her. Daphne gave her a few harsh words - basically telling her to stop being a pussy. Since then, Temperance has been trying to be less passive, and growing more assertive and opinionated. Perhaps for the better.
