Background
Born in 1851 to a rich family in the Basque Country, Joaquin was expected to grow strong, join the army, come back and take over the family estate. Despite being a privelaged male, life was pretty restricted for Joaquin and adventure lust got the better of him. He was an able bodied man, but preferred to have fun, play his violin, and enjoy some female company. He packed his horse the day he was due to leave and join the army and set off for Milan, not Madrid at expected. This was the last time he saw his family, as far as he knows to this day, his younger (and only) brother Rodrigo took over the estate in his stead. After a long travel he made it to Madrid and moved into an apartment. A few months later, he confessed to his father that he has not joined the army as requested.
He was expecting to be repremanded, not to be disowned and his inheritance taken away. The youngster turned to drink, and even had to earn his own money playing his voilin in concert halls and at times bistros. It was at one of these concerts he met Elizabeth, and in 1876 was sired in his bed in Milan. His sire was an English vampire who had been travelling Western Europe with her sire and his consort, the Prince of Poppies and Lady D'rise. The Prince of Poppies was french and addicted to Opiates, an aristocrat sired in the 18th Century. Lady D'rise was also french, daughter to some distant relation to a royal line. The Prince said he'd only accept royal blood as his consort (as faint as the link may be).
