Background
From as early as she can remember, Louisa was told she was special. Was she really? Not exactly. Lou's parents tried to keep up with the positive reinforcement so that she didn't become too jealous of her older brother Sebastian, and all the attention he'd been getting, especially from their father. Their father spent most of his time training Sebastian to fight. Why? Lou didn't know, until she was about fourteen and her parents had sat her down, discussing the family 'gift'. That Sebastian would eventually take over as the city's 'Champion', after their father. Since Tian had to focus on the physical aspect of the job, Lou had taken over the mental. She'd read through the small amount of books that the family had gathered on the occult, learning what she could. Lou was a quick study, learning both Latin and Sumerian before she'd gone into high school. Her parents never noticed the few times that, while Sebastian was training, she was able to keep up with the moves. These bouts of 'learning' were brief, and Lou never brought attention to it. She knew she'd never be the fighter that Tian was.
Lou focused on her studies. She'd done well in school, and had even joined the school's gymnastics team, using her talents in that arena. She has a small group of friends, but she'd figured that being popular took up too much energy. Energy that she could use to put towards helping Tian and the family. As she'd grown, she focused more on the occult. She'd read so much that by the time she was sixteen, she'd needed glasses. Shortly after that her mother had been killed in a car accident, and later, her father was killed in the line of duty. She'd been upset at Sebastian when he'd joined the force. She'd hoped he'd learn from their father's mistake. No.. He hero-worshiped the man so much that he has to follow in his footsteps. Fine. Lou took it upon herself to look after Tian. She'd graduated high school with good grades, and instead of going straight to college, she'd taken a year off to volunteer at the hospital. it was here that she'd learned basic first aid and CPR, and where she'd gotten the idea to go into medicine.
Lou still has her friends, but she keeps everyone at arm's length. After her parents had passed, lou just can't seem to get close to anyone. This makes her commitment to Sebastian even stronger. If she were to lose him she'd be completely lost. Louisa's also rather driven. If she doesn't know the answer to something, or can't find it easily, she becomes flustered and frustrated.
