Background
Lorelai was born and raised in Las Vegas. She displayed a keen intellect and seemed unusually gifted from a very young age. At the age of four her mother enrolled her in piano lessons, which she naturally excelled at, but had no real talent for; she was a precise, practical player — she did the math, there was no heart or soul in her playing. She was simply repeating patterns, finishing the equations. Once she was enrolled in school, she dropped the piano like a hot potato. She was much more suited for, and interested in, scholarly pursuits than music and art.
As soon as she discovered speech, Lorelai was always something of a mystery and a frustration to her parents. Her mother desperately wanted her to be a "normal girl", interested in things like Barbies and Girl Scouts, and her complete disinterest in these things bewildered her. The more her mother tried to thrust them on her, the more she rebelled. Her father was mostly content to let her be, but her mother's constant aggravation with her daughter led to many fights and problems between the two.
When she was eight, her father bought her an electronics kit, something for her to tinker with. This did not go over well with her mother; Lorelai completely ignored yet another doll and became completely fascinated with the kit. In sixth grade, she constructed her first robot. It was a simple thing, really, a robo-puppy (before such things were trendy) that could sit, roll over, fetch her shoes, and do a few other tasks. It didn't look like much — to hide the wires, she had gutted and torn out all the stuffing in one of the many stuffed animals her mother had filled her room with and dressed the robo-puppy in the toy's pelt.
High school and college were a breeze for her. She published several papers on topics such as theoretical quantum nucleonic energy and the effects of neutron density imbalance. Her continued work and advancement with robotics and cutting edge technology made her a sought-after prize by many private firms, but it was ultimately the government that made her an offer she could not refuse. Only the government could provide her with the funds and clearance to continue her work, though she often found the bureaucracy stifling and irritating.

Her promotion into the Initiative is a recent development. Once again, the government made her an offer she couldn't refuse. They dangled knowledge in front of her, and she took the bait like a hungry fish. The things they told her were, at first, fantastic. Vampires? Demon? They're /real/? If she didn't know any better, she'd swear they were pulling a prank on her. Her attitude doesn't make her the most popular person among her peers, but… this was all too much. Too elaborate — even for them — to be a hoax.
And then they introduced her to an honest to goodness vampire. A slavering, horrible thing with glowing yellow eyes and a monstrous visage. Then, they staked it, and as she watched the /thing/ crumble into dust, she knew — beyond a shadow of a doubt — that it was real.
She wanted to know more. They've given some basic training, some fundamental knowledge of the supernatural, and they've placed her back in her home town of Las Vegas, within the Initiative cell there.
| Name | Relation | Notes |
| Douglas MacLaren | Commanding Officer | The leader of the merry band. Frustrating and at times nigh insufferable. Anti-math. Excellent kisser. |
| Taylor Paniculli | Commando, Friend | He's capable, complimentary, and also, very sweet. |
| Maxwell Mitchel | Commando, Friend | A good man, kind and thoughtful. He has put quite a lot of trust in Lorelai, and that means much to her. |
| Oswald Bay | Commando, Nurse | He's a bit odd, but otherwise seems to be alright. |
