Background

Born Jayant Singh in Las Vegas itself Jay continues to have a mother and father and sister in Las Vegas suburbs. His family is part of a line of priests, shamans and Fakir's that ascribe to the Sikh religion. The religion itself is fairly young but the mystical practicioners are an Elder line. Jay's parents and a few others like-minded came to America trying to bridge the gap between the older traditions and the political unrest in India and Pakistan and seek new beginnings.

Jay himself showed little interest or aptitude in the familial religion as a youth and instead grew up with all the rabblerousing of a youth in the states. This culminated in a separation from his family and his joining the Navy to serve as a naval corpsman with marine units. Jay served two tours of duty primarily in Iraq and Afghanistan providing some language skills but primarily providing medical support for field units and occasionally in back supply bases. He excelled but in the end was gravely changed by the violence, making him more withdrawn and intent on his work of helping people. In the pain and harshness of war Jay recovered some ties to his relegion and faith and was able to learn enough to even begin to tap some natural inclination to sorcery.

At the completion of his second tour Jay was given the opportunity to transfer into the reserves to get his medical degree in the hopes of eventually returning to the service as an officer to do more for the Marine Corps and Navy than he could as a corpsman. He accepted with the goal of also seeking to learn, understand and further his mystical skills. Between some learning by wisemen while in the field and now more from his father Jay is just beginning to learn the darker side of reality, especially in Las Vegas.

Current Events

Jay has settled back into Las Vegas life with an odd balance. The majority of his time remains eaten up by classes and work as a Medical Intern at the local hospital. Outside of this he spends much of his time expanding his spell research and occult library. Jay's knowledge has been expanding greatly in understanding the Occult elements within the city, but he's utterly failed at working with any of the local groups. For the moment it seems his efforts to build something other than a life of healing and vigilante occult justice remain unrealized. He spends much of his study time at the Permano observing the different demonic groups and studying the bar's antics.

Relationships

Name Relation Notes
Daphne Pet Project Daphne is a young slayer that Jay tried to take under his wing. He failed… miserably but he still worries about her.
Damian Pet Project's Beau Jay has taken a dislike to Damian primarily because he keeps mentioning touching and other things to Daphne. Jay tends to use an example of Damian running away from Daphne's fight whenever possible. He also occasionally plots to place a curse on Damian's danglies to make them fall off.
Dolly Coopetition Dolly is another talented girl who Jay met while fixing up some kids. They both seem to agree in protecting young people off the street. However Dolly seems to have a hate for Hospitals that tends to put the two of them in direct conflict. They disagree but he wouldn't hesitate to help her in her efforts to protect young men and women off the street.
Keith Dim's 'Brother' Keith didn't much care for Jay after Damian was insulted. Jay isn't particularly concerned. There was the initial thought that Keith might get a posse to mug him, but that seemed to fizzle when Jay instructed Keith to keep away from him in alleys and the like where he might feel compelled to shoot.
Seraph Dim's 'Father' Griff, as Jay tends to call him when being irritable, is according to Jay a 'stand-up Philosopher' they seemed to get along until Damian was insulted. Seraph said he would ignore Jay until he 'grew up'. Jay isn't too concerned at being ignored from now on.
