Half Demon

Variable Quality

Your character is a demon. This isn't necessarily a bad thing…some demons are perfectly upstanding folks. The nature of what KIND of demon you are, and what you can do, that's something different. If you're not using one of the demon races below, you have to use the special Supernatural Qualities to build up your demon race, and whatever it costs, it costs (see NEWS PACKAGES).

Brachen

9 or 10 pt. Quality

Brachen demons are blue-skinned, with spine, quills, or very small horns covering their heads and necks. Their eyes are either red or yellow. They are stronger, tougher, and faster than humans, and have sharp senses, able to tell when magic or inhumans are about.

Full-blooded Brachen do not have a human form, but half-bloods do and can switch between forms at will (or accidentally, when stressed…or sneezing). Their spines change their Head Butt damage to slash/stab in their native forms. They cannot be killed by a Break Neck maneuver, but all other forms of combat damage them normally, in their demon forms only.

Brachen get +1 to Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution. They also have +2 Acute Hearing and +2 Acute Smell/Taste, and +3 Supernatural Senses. Their spines are a low-damage +1 Natural Weapon. Full-blooded Brachen have a -2 Supernatural Form drawback and half-blooded have a -1 Supernatural Form drawback, as their abilities all reside in their demon form.

Byblos

12 pt. Quality

Known as the Librarians, Byblos demons are living databases that never forget anything they've assimilated. Full-blooded Byblos demons prefer to observe and learn, rather than do anything and rarely get themselves involved in any conflict. The half-Byblos are identical to their full-blooded brethren, but tend to be less obsessed with knowledge and have a full range of human emotion.

The natural form of a Byblos demon is a faceless, jet-black humanoid that appears to be made of pure, solid darkness. They can assume a human shape at will, which is usually that of a slight, skinny human. Half-bloods have a natural human form, but can shift into their demon forms at will, though most prefer not to.

Byblos get +5 Intelligence, +5 Hard to Kill, +1 Increased Life Points, the Photographic Memory quality and a -1 Supernatural Form drawback.

Draoidheil

10 or 11 pt. Quality

Draoidheil Demons are an ancient and rare breed originating in Ireland. For centuries they have been the keepers of all things magical and mystical, from books and artifacts to knowledge not fit to be included in the written word. They are natural linguists, providing them the extra edge in translating even the most ancient of texts.

In more recent history, the Draoidheil have taken to breeding with humans to blend in with society. This has granted them the ability to gather even more information, for now the half-breeds can wander about in their human form without need to hide in the shadows. Full bloods of the breed cannot assume any form but their demon form, while half breeds are able to shift between human and demon at will. Half breeds tend to dark hair and eyes as the Draoidheil tend toward the 'Black Irish' rather than their fairer brethren. They rarely, if ever, breed with anyone that isn't of Irish descent.

All Draoidheil, both full bloods and half bloods, are relentless in their search for knowledge of all things occult. They can even be cruel in their pursuits. They are all also expected to make contributions to the groups collective knowledge as well as be available in the event that something threatens the group or that collective knowledge.

Draoidheil benefit from +3 to all mental stats, +2 to occultism, and two levels of increased life points. They are Polyglots, have Photographic Memory, Nerves of Steel, and have small Natural Weapons in the form of claws on their hands (2xSTR slash/stab damage).

All draoidheil suffer from severe Mental Problems (Obsession - obsessed with the occult and must make a doubled WP roll to resist any situation where more knowledge of the occult can be gained), mild Mental Problems (Cruelty), Covetous (Greed and Power), are saddled with an Important obligation to the tribe, and suffer a major vulnerability to gold (taking 1 pt. per Turn of skin-to-gold exposure). Both full- and half-blooded versions have a Supernatural Form drawback, though only the half-bloods can assume human form.

Muse

8 pt. Quality

After the bad nasty demon types died off for the most part, the Powers had to recall their own "good" demons to maintain the universal balance between good and evil. This still left behind those off spring and descendants of the off spring of the illicit mating with humans. Different religions and mythologies have different names for these hybrids. The most commonly used name is Nephilim, and these are beings who possessed gifts of minor powers and extended lives, regenerative abilities and resilience. Over the years their blood lines thinned out and eventually began skipping generations until descendants of these creatures are "awakened" by some traumatic experience and memories of where they come from as well as their own powers are revealed.

The role of the Muse is to inspire humans to creativity. Each Muse generally in a specific creative talent, and is usually amongst the best of their medium in the world, though this is not always the case. In these other cases, their chosen medium is something they have little talent in themselves they simply possess the ability to inspire others to create great works. Though they specialize, they are by no means unable to inspire others outside that medium - they just are not as proficient in it. They look like ordinary humans and usually work in places such as book or record stores. The more patient of muses often dedicate themselves to teaching. There are only about a dozen of his type of demons alive/around seeing as they live a very very very long time and seem to be elusive.

Muses can help others succeed at creating something by rolling Willpower + Influence. Success Levels (half that for anything other than their specialized medium) become a bonus to the die roll in question. Can only be used 1/week. Limited to the following skills: Art, Mr Fix-It, Science.

When it comes to non-creative endeavors, Muses tend to have difficulty paying attention. At the Directors discretion, they suffer a -1 penalty to all die rolls when they have not been sufficiently stimulated.

Willpower +1
Intelligence +2
Art +2
Influence +1
Attractiveness +1
Hard to Kill 3
Immortal 0
Regeneration 1
Perception -1
Imperative -1: To encourage others in their artistic pursuits, failure to do so when the opportunity arises can lead to headaches.

Nokrun

16 pt. Quality

The Mohra are renowned across the worlds as champions of darkness and single-minded destroyers of all heroes. Their half-human children, on the other hand, are far different and despised by their parents. Very rare, the half-Mohra, called Nokrun ("Unborn" in the Mohra tongue, from the full-blood Mohra's refusal to accept their bastard children) are crippled by the strong demonic essence mixing with their half-human nature, but have mental prowess far beyond either side of their heritage.

Nokrun benefit from +2 Intelligence, +1 Perception, +5 Willpower, The Sight, Iron Mind, 1 level of Telepathy. They suffer from -1 Strength, -1 Constitution, and -1 Supernatural Form: The Nokrun appear much more human than the Mohra, but are still obviously not normal. They usually have a large jewel of some sort embedded into their foreheads, with green, scaly skin. They can also appear human, and may shift back and forth at will.

Chargen Prerequisite: Must have some level of Physical Disability

Peisinoe

3 pt. Quality

The Peisinoe species of demons were once the mongrels of the demon world, but eventually there were enough of them that they were able to establish their own bloodline. Offspring of this race are always odd or different, especially the half-breeds; sometimes this manifests as a simple love of gardening beyond the norm, or a desire for adventure, or the ability to make any living space into a warm, comforting home. Unfortunately, due to a back-fired curse, there are few of this species left.

Peisinoe gain a +2 bonus to Willpower, 1 level of Emotional Influence, and suffer a -1 Supernatural Form — when stressed, they develop tiny, iridescent scales on their skin, reminiscent of those on a gecko.

Tarrack Daemonling

7 pt. Quality

Tarrack Daemonlings are the half-demon result of True Tarrack demons and human females. They look perfectly normal and possess no demon form, but they have inherited their father's supernatural strength and love of violence. Most Daemonlings lead short, brutual lives. Their demonic natures don't manifest until late teens; they seem like perfectly ordinary children until then. It starts with acts that can be written off as typical teenage rebel, but quickly becomes extreme and cannot be addressed through talks or discipline. Few Tarrack make it into adulthood, and those that due usually end up behind bars behind meeting a violent end.

Tarrack Daemonlings gain +5 to Strength, +3 Constitution, and Regeneration per Hour. They have a -2 Mental Problems (Violence) drawback and must make a doubled Willpower roll with a penalty equal to the level of the drawback to resist reacting with violence to confrontational situations.
