Yes. Power. One day, as she was daydreaming (as she is often wont to do), she was staring at a blank piece of paper, just waiting for inspiration to spark in her brain. Instead, something sparked in the paper and it started to smolder, and then caught on fire. She freaked a little bit — can you blame her? — and got the fire put out. Her parents think she's sneaking smokes. If only she was so cool or rebellious. No, instead, she's a freak with a power, and when things aren't going quite right, or she's stressed, or it's Tuesday… she sets things on fire.
Other than that? Emily is just your average teenage girl, struggling to survive high school. She's smart, but not brainy. She's not one of the popular kids, or the beautiful people. She's not a jock, or an AV Club nerd. She's just a girl, with a freak power, and a fondness for making pretty things out of paper and paint and whatever bits of things she can find and glue to other things.
