Christopher Elias Donovan was born on March 3rd, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois to William and Anne Donovan. Both of his parents were prominent doctors at Chicago Memorial hospital, and the boy lived a wealthy, happy childhood in the Lincoln Park neighborhood for most of his life. He was like any other kid, enjoyed sports, martial arts, and skateboarding. A wealthy child, he attended an art magnet school and was quite gifted at the piano. When he was fifteen, all of that changed.
William Donovan had been helping with a medical research project being run at the hospital, and had discovered some of the research paperwork was being fabricated. What William did not know, was that the project was no ordinary experiment, and neither were the doctors. The researchers in charge of the project were very powerful magic users, and the medical research was based in genetically altering magic users to increase their powers and potentials, amongst several other secret agendas. When William threatened to reveal the falsified documents to the hospital board, the magicians in charge of the project paid the Donovan family a visit.
After a trip into Evanston for dinner and a movie, Christopher and his parents rode the El towards their home late one night in July of 2007 and found themselves alone in the train car. The magicians made their way into the car, and quickly slaughtered the two parents, right in front of Christopher. As they turned their sights on him, to leave no witnesses, he doubled in crippling pain, howling with agony. In the next moments, he received his first psychic vision. The magicians froze, unsure what was happening. In the vision, Christopher saw the people around him, the entire train car, bursting into flames, and one of the magic users somehow protected by a sphere of darkness. He crumpled onto his side, hurt and confused, and the magicians began to cast to finish the job.
As the magician spells began to emerge from their hands, Christopher shouted with anger, and just like in his vision, his hands burst into fire, and the train car around him ignited. The magician doctors found themselves engulfed in intense heat and flame, and Christopher just continued to yell as they incinerated. All but one. Just like in the vision, one of them was protected by a sphere of darkness. The car burned until finally, exhausted and spent, Christopher passed out. As he lay unconscious, the last magician approached him, ready to end him. And then his phone rang.

The magic user checked the cell, and when he saw it was his lawyer, he answered it. Men like him used lawyers with special talents, and when they call, they answer. The Wolfram and Hart attorney explained to him that his superiors had learned of the unexpected development in the boy, particularly the visions from the Powers That Be. He advised that until his team got a better understanding of this new player, he should be left alive. The magician understood, and instead of killing Christopher, he rewrote the boy's memory of the evening. Christopher now remembers the night on the train as being a random attack. A group of evil, ugly demons thrashed their way through the train, killing everyone in sight. He received the same first vision of fire as he hid, and then killed the demons as his pyrokinesis emerged, burning all of the evil creatures. He has no memory of the magic users.
Incorrectly believing his parents were killed by demons, Christopher left Chicago, running away and leaving the authorities to believe he also died in that train car. He goes by his middle name now, Elias, and makes his way from city to city hunting demons. They are, after all, all evil creatures who must be destroyed. He still receives visions, which leave him crippled and in pain for hours afterward, but they seem to lead him on some sort of righteous path to where he needs to be, always finding they steer him towards those in need or those who are tormented by the very evil's he hunts.
Relationships
Significant People
| Name | Relation | Nickname | Notes |
| Andrew Clary | Quiet Guy | Shylock | Quiet kid that snuggles with all of Elias' roommates. It's a little weird. |
| Adrian Smith | Dating | Cowboy | Flirty, fun, dangerous. Elias juggles the dance of wanting to beat the guy up or pin him to a bed. They're building a strange brotherly kind of bond, and have started dating in an attempt to reconcile their lusty hatred of one another. He's also a Golem, which is kinda hot. |
| Brody Leonne | Tiny Dancer | Abercrombie | Pretty boy with some cash. Roommate. Cries too much. Hates Elias because Eli didn't pick him. |
| Ian Hawthorne | Grown Up | Granpaw | Old man stuck in an ageless body. Ian has taken on something of a father figure role in Elias life. Eli can't stop seeking that out, and he can't stand receiving it. Legally, soon to be older brother to Elias…. grumble… |
| The Detective | Prick Cop | Kojak | Jerk who didn't report the stolen bike to earn an informant. Ass. |
| Jasper Alastair Fox | Martyr | Padre | The PTB finally made made it time for him to die. Eli had to do it, but it wasn't as easy as he thought it would be. The Padre is Eli's first outright murder. |
| Jeff Brown | Online Reporter | Snoops | Sexiest shoulders in Vegas. Eli wants him, but for a ton of reasons, it seems that can't happen. At Elias' manipulation, he's joined Ian and Adrian and to round out their team. |
| Laurel | Demon Chemistry Teacher | Teach | Must die. |
| Maxwell | Laurel's Ex | Newsie | Bore |
| Nick | Works at the Record Store | Vinyl | Thinks records are trendy. Lame. He's lonely, and has no idea how to make friends. Eli's cool with that, he seemed okay. But he also knows more about what's going on in Vegas than he let on. |
| Sam | RoboGirl | Air Force | Elias wants to bang her. She doesn't remember him. |
